Marcus Bean, Brompton Cookery School

Atcham, Shrewsbury, Shropshire. SY5 6LE

01743 761629

The Shropshire based celebrity chef has contacted Great Ness Rapeseed Oil with a view to supplying his famous cookery school with our award winning cold pressed rapeseed oil and using our oil in his many demonstrations across the country.

Marcus, once a pig farmer, studied sound engineering in Manchester as he originally wanted to pursue a career in the music industry, but lucky for us this self taught chef chose to concentrate on and perfect his own culinary skills. Having run a pub successfully for 8 years he won Channel 4’s Iron Chef UK 2010; he now appears regularly on ITV’s “This Morning”’ cooking for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield and many other programmes too.

In 2012 Marcus and his wife Jenny purchased Brompton Cookery School and Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast and have developed it as one of the most well equipped cookery schools attracting foodies and cooking enthusiasts from all over the UK for enjoyable and informative courses.

Marcus continues to pursue his work in the media, writing, and demonstrating across the country. He is an incredibly, talented chef, passionate about food and particularly local produce and Great Ness Oil is delighted to be part of his success story.

Tom Kerridge, the famous celebrity chef came to Shrewsbury Flower Show in August and inspired all those who were lucky enough to be present in the Marshes Food Hall Cookery Theatre. He supported many of the local producers and we were delighted to see that he used Great Ness Rapeseed Oil in many of his recipes.

In 2005, Tom and his wife Beth opened their gastro pub in Marlow. It is the only pub in the UK to be awarded two stars in the Michelin guide as well as the title of Gastro Pub of the year!!

Obviously immensely talented and dedicated to his profession, with a very successful restaurant, television appearances, boundless enthusiasm, we will be seeing a great deal more of Tom Kerridge  and we at Great Ness Oil were delighted to meet him and very grateful  for his help and support.

The judges liked this interesting oil and loved the combination of flavours, the cardamom works well and the oil is well rounded. A very pleasant and long flavour.

Orange Zest

The judges commented that there is a strong orange aroma and no harshness from the orange zest although there is a strong orange flavour. The oil is a carrier for the fresh orange flavour.
